Pleasant, Hugh & Semantha McCall

These were children of Hugh& Rebecca Dollarhide McCall. We have not been able to find their parents after the 1850 Hopkins co. census where they were living in Sulphur Springs. Hugh did a real estate transaction back in the Co. in Aug of 1860...and in the 1860 Census, we find the 2 boys in the homes of William & James Houghton, and Semantha in the Chapman family home.
We are told, that there was possibly foul play, nothing for evidence...
Is there possibly ANY thing in Hopkins Co. History that would give us some clue as to what happened to the Parents.? Pleas joined the CSA at age 15 and we do not find him after 1870 where he was in Dallas co. tex. Hugh died in 1917 in the flu epidemic and is buried in El Paso. their little sister is said to have married a man named "Bybee" and of course, that is not proven.
Would appreciate any leads that might help us locate this family mystery! thanks, Mavis Hensley Sager, 2nd gr granddaughter to Hugh.
