I have a copy of the 1880 Hood County, Texas, Census. It shows Leander Painter, age 32, his wife is listed as "Lee" 29 year old female born in Tenn. The children listed are, Cintha. age 11(my great grandmother), Mary, age 6, Corda, age 3, and Cora age 1. All of these girls are listed as having been born in Texas.
Rev. Leander Painter is buried at Rock Church Cemetary, also in Hood county. Not far from there, in a cow pasture, is the grave of "Mother Painter and daughter" . This is the grave of Leander's first wife, who died in childbirth, and the daughter she died giving birth to.
My father put up a new marker there in the 1970's, and I have the old homemade marker in my garage. I am driving out there this afternoon to check for first names, as I don't remember if it is on the "new" marker or not. It is not on the marker I have. By the way, the Hood County Courthouse burned sometime in the 1870's so the only records avaliable are after that.
I also have a call in to my brother, the family Historian, who may have more information for you. I will email again what I find out when I talk to him, and what I found at the gravesite.
Hope this helps a little, and hope I have what you need later this afternoon.
