Since the Navarro County line is about a mile or less from the school, he may have been closer to this school than another one in Navarro County. Would love to see the photos of the school in Mertens. Have been told the name was Richland School. Don't know much about the school. How many grades and when was it last used. I did find that the school was built in 1914 and that it burned in the late 60's or early 70's. About all I know about it.
