Pauline, you cannot know how much I appreciate the information you gave me. I have wondered about this family for so long, hoping there would still be some of them around somewhere. Even though it made me weep, I am still glad to know what happened to them. Terrell's father and his uncle were never seen again after Shiloh, and the family really did not know where they were buried, except probably in the mass graves at Shiloh. Jencie/Gincy was left with 3 children. They moved on to Texas from Mississippi, and once Terrell came back to visit. Terrell was widowed when his two children were young. So much sadness!
