Since you had a little information on Edmon I went looking for him. I found one that might be yours but he and his family are listed as Black. If this is yours you should include that in your queries, it really helps to narrow down the search.

1900 census Ellis Co, TX:

Jackson, Edmon, hd, b [blank] 1864, 36, md 3 yrs, b TX, TX, TX
" Julia, w, b Apr 1881, 19, md 3 yrs, 1 ch, 1 lvg, b LA, VA, LA
" [name not clear], s, b Dec 1898, 1, b TX

There is an Edmond[sic], 5, b TX on the 1870 census in Red River Co, TX, might be yours. Whole family is listed as Black.

Are Edmon, Rufus and Albert brothers? Have you found any of them on a census record?

Happy Hunting (^_^)
