Rey, thank you for your response. That bit of information is encourging. What does CAF stand for, and is Marcedes Air Field in Hildago Co.?

I just arrived back from St. Louis this evening. I live in Sacramento, CA. While I was in St. Louis I went out to the area where Jefferson Barracks was located. The base was active from 1826 until 1946 and the 2nd Cavalry was formed there back in the mid 1800's. My father took his training there when he entered the Army in 1920. He was in the Cavalry and so I am assuming that he was in the 2nd Cavalry also. I understand that the 2nd Cavalry was in the Brownsville area. From Jefferson Barracks, my father was sent to Camp Mercedes. I have pictures of his camp and of his troop, that he took back in 1920. I am looking for an active museum to donate these pictures to. There is an active museum at Jefferson Barracks but I would rather they go to someplace closer. Thanks again for you answer.

Jim
