Butcher and Carroll

Having found an article on the death of Mrs. Emma D Butcher Carroll on Rootsweb, I'm hoping someone can share more information. It says that Mrs. Carroll, a widow of Elias A Carroll, was born Dec 15, 1834 in KY and died April 21, 1901 in Athens. My husband's gr-gr-grandfather was William F Butcher, b. 1832 in KY. He married Eliza Rushing and one of their sons was named Carroll. William and Eliza, daughter of John P Rushing, lived in Athens and although we cannot find any reference to a death and/or burial date for either, we believe they died there also.

My husband remembers his father mentioning being related to the Carroll family so we are anxious to know if Emma Carroll was a sister to William Butcher. And if possible does anyone know who her parents were? Ida Lulla Butcher, the eldest daughter of William and Eliza married Ephraim Fulton becoming my husband's great grandmother.

I also found a census record of Butcher children living in the HH of George and Recena Clark. Shows her to have been born in KY. Is this the mother of William and maybe also Emma?

Any help will be appreciated and we will share info on what we have, too.
