William Pitt Smith is buried in the Butler Cemetery, which as I understand it, is in Onion Creek, just south of Driftwood. This is property that was William Pitt Smith's land and was sold to the Butler family to be set aside for a cemetery. I am trying to find out how to access the Cemetery. I'm trying to prove my line to William Pitt Smith, who was in the Civil War, and further to his grandfather, Ezekiel Smith of Guadalupe County, who was an early Texas Ranger, buried in Riverside Cemetery in Seguin. My problem is that I can't find William Pitt's death certificate for my proof. I understand that he died in 1918 in Hays county. It's nice to find someone who is related to him also.
