Lawson Watkins (Loss) Chamberlain (1860-1947), of Haskell and Lubbock counties in West TX, was my great grandfather. The son of James T. and Sarah (Barton) Chamberlain, who had moved from TN to MO and later to TX, he was b. in Karnes Co., TX, and m. Susan Olive (Ollie) Frey in Caldwell Co. in 1882. Ollie's father was Martin Van Buren Frey, whose family can be traced back to Alsace-Lorraine, in France/Germany, and ultimately to Switzerland, having later been part of the Moravian communities in PA and NC. Her mother was Lucetta M. (Lucy) Rust.
