Whenever possible you want to look for siblings in a family. You never know on any kind of record what will show up that your ancestor didn't get on their record/records.

Some people are unaware of looking for DCs by names of the parents. In the lower left corner, click on More. It's sort of an advance search format. I start with just the surnames of the parents. DCs are notorius for having errors. You never know how names will be spelled. One of the things I like about LDS projects, they often will pick up names with a "similar" spelling. If mother's maiden name unknown, use father's surname, mother's given name. Lots of ways to play around with this index.

Happy Hunting (^_^)
