Benjamin Barton Burial Site
Posted by: Noma Freeman (ID *****6382) Date: October 19, 2007 at 17:50:50

My ggg-grandfather, J. Benjamin Barton was hanged in 1862 by robbers outside of Marshall as he was returning from Lousiana. I am told that he was buried beside the tree where he was hanged and that there is a brass plaque marking the site. We've tried to find it without any success. Can anyone help me with this?
