MELVIN L. SCOTT, 86, a lifelong resident of Katy, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2007 in a Houston hospital. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Stockdick Scott of Katy; sons, Ronald L. Scott and wife Rita Scott of Katy, Randy Scott and wife Pat Scott of Spring, and David A. Scott and wife Emily A. Scott of Southlake, Texas; grandchildren, Aaron J. Scott and wife Angie, Amber Scott Gentala and husband David, Audra G. Scott, Monica Scott, Andrew Shuff, Caleb Scott, Lisa Scott, Garrett B. Scott, Drew A. Scott, and Corrie K. Scott; great grandchildren, Barrett Scott and Ainsley Scott; and two great grandchildren on the way. He is also survived by special nieces, Nondis Fisher and husband Grover and Yvonne Little and husband Joe Bill; brother-in-law, Ward A. Stanberry; sister-in-law, Marilyn Stockdick Stanberry; and nieces, Janet Stanberry, Betty Boydstun and husband Frankie, and Sharon Hyde and husband Steve. He was preceded in death by his parents and ten brothers & sisters. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Apostolic Faith Church, in Katy, with Rev. Harrol Waterbury, Rev. Jim Fox, Rev. Ron Martin, and his grandson Rev.
