I am doing this line of genealogy for my 2 grand-daughters. Here is all the information I have been able to get, because Jack Tanton died before Loretta was born. According to her they never talked about the Tanton side of the family.
Jack Tanton no dates buried: in Evadale TX married Rosie "maiden name not known" also buried in Evadale TX. Their daughter Rosa Ray Tanton married Raymond Carrol Loftin both of them are buried in the Bracken Cem in Hardin County Texas. Their daughter Loretta Gail Loftin in the other grand-mother. Rosa Ray lived and died in Fred Texas, she is also buried in the Bracken Cem.
1870 Hardin Co TX Census - Are these two men brothers?
193 193 Gibson Tanton 30 AL, Mary 25 TX, William 10 TX, Jane 8 TX, John 6 TX, Amelia 2 TX, L.A.M. 3/12 TX
194 194 John H Tanton 54 AL, Haley 60 AL, Charles 15 TX, Jasper 19 TX, Ellen 18 TX, M.E. 6/12 TX
I was researching the John H line but now wondering if I should be researching the Gibson Tanton line.
