Dear Tony,
My husband's ancestry includes William Henry Goins and Tobitha Hare. My MIL, living in Houston, is the grand-daughter of their son Escar Samuel Goins. We have just recently started our research on Goins/Hare/Whittaker. May I ask, how did you identify Levi and Martha J. Goins as parents of William Henry Goins? I am limited right now to research through Ancestry.com and could not find Levi and Martha J. in the censuses. We haven't yet traveled to east Texas/Silsbee area to do vital records, church, or cemetery research.
Our link to the Whittaker family name is through Escar Samuel Goins' wife, Jennie Whittaker. Her father was William Henry Whittaker, and her mother was Sallie Delitha Hare, Tobitha Hare's sister.
I would appreciate any information you can provide, and if I can return the favor, will do so gladly.
