The marriage record book in which the 1884 marriage of John Edmond O'Quinn and Mary Frances Kelso was consumed in the Feb. 2, 1886 courthouse fire.

Following the courthouse conflagration apparently some couples brought their marriage licenses to the temporary courthouse to be recorded again. The second recording was on lists--not in marriage record books. Some couples evidently forgot to pick up their marriage records after the second recording.
