I don't know where you saw that information, but could they have meant Pensacola, and in FL, not TX????

Go to this site for information on what happend to Hardin in 1877 -- http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/texas-rangers-arrest-john-wesley-hardin -- When arrested in 1877 it wasn't for assault with intent to murder, but for an actual murder he committed three years earlier.
