Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
The Wood County Genealogical Society, based at the Quitman Public Lbrary, will be hosting a BEGINNING GENEALOGY SEMINAR on Saturday, May 16th, 2009. This seminar will be held in the Shamburger Meeting Room at the library and will be FREE to the public. It will include instruction on “Beginning Genealogy”, “Accessing the LDS (Mormon) Records”, “Introduction to the Quitman Public Library Database”. Hands-on computer assistance, other websites to access for information, and instruction on filling out genealogy forms will also be made available. The Seminar will be from 10:00 A.M to 2:30 P.M., with a break for lunch. The presentations will be made by members of the Society who have experience in these fields, as well as Delene DelaRosa, the Librarian at the Quitman Public Library. The Society invites the public to participate. Direct any questions to Shirley Patrick, President of the Society at firstname.lastname@example.org.
