Look for him through Social Security records. Go to http://ssdi.rootsweb.com. Or just go up to the web address bar and input "SSDI."
He is listed as Heber Miller, born 1903 and died in 1978. His Social Security Number is 467-30-4420. When you go to the SS records, there is a place to request a copy of his application for social security card. On this application will be the name of his mother and his father. You can take it from there. It will cost you $26 to get this info but, in my books, it's money well spent.
Please note that some people live in Kilgore, TX but they actually get their mail on a rural route in Rusk County, TX. ( I know this because I was born in Gregg County.)
