Porter M. Travis, b 21 Jul 1883; d 25 Apr 1966 Grayson Co, TX; last residence Sherman, Grayson Co, TX; SS card issued in MO

Porter M. Travis, Jr, b 13 Dec 1910; d 3 May 1968 Harris Co, TX; last residence not shown; SS card issued in GA.

Have you checked the Grayson Co, TX GenWeb site? Or, the archived section of the TX GenWeb Project? The latter has Grayson Co. cemeteries.

West Hill Cemetery, Sherman, TX:

Porter M. Travis 1883-1966
H/O Laura Saul Travis 1885-1967
[There is a Laura Marie Travis d 9 Jul 1967 Grayson Co, TX on the TX Dth Idx, but I cannot find her on SSDI]

There are several named Travis buried in that cemetery. One William is born 1911, near the birth year of Porter Jr.

Check with the Sherman Public Library, they have a nice genealogy collection, and may have local obits in there, too.
