Have you checked the 6 volume set of Early TN Marriages, by Sistler? Look for groom named Riddle and bride named Brown, getting married early enough to be parents of your Emily.

I made big break through looking for groom named Rice and bride named Miller. I didn't have given names for either. I was working on a hunch that Miller had to be the brides name, as two Rice siblings both named sons Miller. I found them, just one county north of what I'd been told by "family tradition". And, with more research proved them to be correct couple.
