James LeRoy Smith Sherman, Texas
Posted by: Gail Stanford Date: July 27, 2001 at 09:37:23

I am looking for any ancestors of James LeRoy Smith. He was born February 1, 1882, in Sherman, TX, and died June 1, 1935, in Houston, TX. He was the son of J.D.(may have gone by the name Jay)Smith who died before 1910. Mother's name was Dannie. He had two brothers: Herschel D., an architect, and Vivian. Herschel, according to a newspaper article I have, designed Dallas City Hall. He was 55 years years old when he died. James had a sister known as Dannie who died in Sherman, TX. at age 22. There were two aunts, Miss Lillian Smith, and Kate. He married Addie Clay Statler who was born in Gordonville, TX. They married November 16, 1910, in Sherman, TX. James was called Roy by Addie Clay. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
