Hello,

I was recently in Grayson Co Tx trying to find the property in which the Iron Ore creek meets with the Choctaw creek.I was uncusseful in finding this. It is aprox 5 mi S.E. of Dennison. My gggrandfather John Neff owned this property 130 acres in Oct of 1865. He later bought 70 acres. He paid $ 400 for this prop, but sold it two years later for $ 200. In researching this family it appears my Gggfather John Neff, his wife Magdelina Simons Neff, and three sons Christian, Joseph, and John jr all disappeared from any records after this time. Christian and Joseph were enlisted in the 22 Ind Cav mustered in at Ft Washita 1862. Another brother Isaac Neff was also mustered in the 22 Ind Cav, and can later be found living in the Indian Territory in Webber Falla Okla.
If anyone knows of this area of Grayson Tx and knows of any cemeteries in this area I would appreciate hearing from you. Also anyone with knowledge of what Grayson Co Tx was like after the civil war ( maybe the reason the prop was sold for $200 cheaper than paid 2 years prev. ) please contact me

thank you for your time

Tammy
