This sounded interesting, so I Googled her name and found one entry that said the most about her was found in a book titled "Wildwood Boys" by James Carlos Blake (2001).

Also, there are a few entries for her on WorldConnect which say her parents were A.R. and Tabitha Smith and that Bush was born about 1846 in Georgia. I suspect her middle name was Bush, and perhaps her mother's maiden name was Bush.
