Hi Shirley. Here goes. Sherman Democrat abt. 14 Nov 1969.

Services will be held at 2p.m. Wednesday at the Forest Avenue Baptist Church for Joseph Watson Brown, 82, 2024 East
Lamar St., retired building contractor, who died at 9:13pm
Saturday at a Sherman hospital.
Services will be conducted by Rev. Roy Jerrell, pastor of the Forest Avenue Baptist Church and Rev. Charles E. Glass,
pastor of the First Pentacostal Church. Burial will be at
Cedarlawn Memorial Park, under direction of Waldo Funeral
Mr. Brown was born March 11, 1887 at Collin County, Tx., the
son of the late Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Brown. He was married to
the former Miss Polly Morris in October of 1906 who preceded him in death on July 21, 1957. He moved to Sherman 55 years ago and was a building contractor and carpenter here until his retirement in 1952. He was a member of the Forest Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors are three sons, A. Leonard Brown and Francis M.
Brown, both of Sherman and William L. Brown of Waterbury, Conn.; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Ellen Glover of Sherman, one brother Ed Brown of Dallas, Tx, 12 grandchildren, 25 great
grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and several
nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mack Hightower, Earl Ballou, Carl Johnson, Carl Brady, Hallie Haizlip and Luther Sprowl. Honorary bearers will be Costa Morrow, Douglas Ferguson, L.
P. Orr and Jeff Mercer.

The family plans to be at the Waldo Funeral Home from 7 to 9 pm Tuesday and at other times at the residence of A. L.
Brown, 2008 East Lamar St.

As you have already figured out, I forgot to get the date
of the newspaper obit. I didn't realize that I had forgotten it until I was halfway back home. I will try and
remember to get it when I go back to the library. Happy
