Richard J. Anderson (hung)
William Boyles (killed)
Arphax Dawson (hung)
G. W. Diamond (wrote book)
Rama Dye (hung)
Harry Gillman (freed?)
Aaron Hill (examined witnesses)
William McCool (hung)
Daniel Montague (president of court)
Marcus L. Webster (came with Dawson and Dye)
Isom Welch (freed)
Robert Wheelock (witness)
John M. Wiley (hung)
William C. Young (shot Oct 1862)

All of these men are associated with the Great Hangings at Gainesville in October of 1862 and have connections to Grayson County. Isn't it odd that all of the Grayson County books try to say they weren't connected to the hangings except through Mr. Wiley. I just rattled off 14 names of people that are connected and no doubt there will be more before I'm done. I'd like to hear stories passed down no matter which side you were on. Read my other message for our connections to those involved.
