Thank you so much for the info on Possum Trot. Yes, sure of the county. We have lived in Caldwell Co. (bordering) for many years, and my grandfather is the one who was born in Possum Trot in 1885. I've seen Gonzales Co. census that show the family, but just never really knew where the area was that they farmed. Strangely, he never offered to take me out to show me the area. The family did move to Medina Co., so he may have felt that more his home than that of his birthplace.
