Hi Debbi,
I came on here looking for info on my older home in Gonzales County and saw the name of Isaac Smead. I don't know if this will help you but the home that Isaac Smead lived in in Gonzales is on the historic home list and belongs to one of my dear friends. A couple of Christmases ago I was a docent for her and did a little research on the Smeads and the house. So I was excited to find out that several of his descendants still live in Gonzales and are upstanding citizens. Our county attorney, Mr. Bob Scheske is a direct descendant,as well as Noel Reese, a local attorney and real estate broker. And if my memory serves me correctly I believe the daughter of Jessie Smead who was very elderly also came through. These folks seemed to know their family history and how they were related to each other and to Isaac Smead. You could probably contact them with your questions on your particular line and if they don't have answers they can probably direct you to someone in the family who does. I hope this helps in some way.
The County Attorney's office's number for Gonzales County is (830) 672-7450.
I hope you have success finding your line!
