Hi Melba,
I can't help with the Griffin family, but a cousin of mine just this week discovered some of her ancestors in Belmont, Gonzales County. She said the folks at the County office are outstanding and have a gold mine of information, including a history book. Belmont is a very small town and there is a Belmont Cemetery, which my cousin and I are planning to visit. I'll be happy to look for Griffin graves for you. (Note, I'm not sure when my cousin is planning on this trip.) Meanwhile, you might want to call the County Archives/Clerk and see what they have on your family. Good luck,
Harriet
