We are looking for a Joseph V. Howard as listed on the unit roster for the 2nd Texas Cavalry Company K. This Regiment was known as the 2nd Texas Mounted Rifles in 1861, but changed to 2nd Cavalry in 1862.

We know that the men lived in counties near the San Antonio, Texas area.
