Ashmore, TX.

Hi,

I have passed on the outskirts of a town named Ashmore in Texas several times.

Is there anyone out there who can tell me the name of the man for whom the town was named?

I am a member of the Ashmore family and am curious as to how and why the town came to be named "Ashmore". I know that the home page of the Ashmore, TX. website states that the town was named for the man who purchased J. H. Belcher's store and post office.

Thanks,

Rose
