In searching the records of elected officials in Texas, I found an entry that "Mrs. A. L. Duff" was elected Justice of the Peace of Gaines County, Texas, November 4, 1924. This makes her one of the very first women judges in Texas. I would like to know more about her for use in writing a book about Texas pioneer women judges. Any information you can give me of descendants or historians who might have information would certainly be appreciated.
