Please email me a brief example of your Holbrook line. I have so many lovely old things from the Holbrook - Pate and Davenport, Denny, etc. families of this area. I have some nice letters from about 1870 through the early 1900s. I also have some very old photographs, many with no identification and an old school house with the children that should be easy to identify (probably about 1908).My gr. gr. gr. gr. Grandparents were Robert Holbrook and Frances Cook. they would probably have been born in the 1780s. I need any information on the Cook family. My gr gr gr grandparents were Robert Jefferson Holbrook(born Wilkes Co. North Carolina in 1807) and Mary Elizabeth Rutherford. I need Rutherford Information. I have some Rutherford letters and pictures etc., but I do not know the family connection. My great great Grandparents were Robert Williamson Holbrook(1847-1915) who married Janet Matilda Hill(1843-1919) I have the Hill line back to the 1600s.My Great grand father, Dr. John Hill Holbrook(1871-1927) married Leila Davenport(1872-1955). Her parents were Charles K. Davenport and Lou Turner. I need any information on these two families.Dr John Hill Holbrook and Leila had only two daughters
1. Blix Holbrook (1899-1973) married Fred Mortimer Pate(1899-1976).They had an only Daughter, my mother ,Blix Mary Pate Kennedy(1926-1975).I am the only child:(Blix Ann Kennedy born 1951) of my parents Blix Mary and Edward Kennedy. With such a line of only children many things have been passed down to me.
2. Mary Holbrook born 1901-1983?)married Judge George W. Hardy Jr.(1900-1967). They had only two sons-John Holbrook born 1928 and
George W. Hardy III born 1932.
I know that my Pate family is large and many of them remain in the Sulphur Springs and Mt.Vernon areas. I hope one of them might help me with the family of Ruby Denny(1880-1946) who married Edwin Bruce Pate(1879-1956) and with the family of Amanda Cornelia McDaniel(1856-1941)She connects to the Griffith family and I have that line but I need the McDaniel side. who married Oscar Mortimer Pate(1855-1942)and Oscar Mortimer Pate's parents: Sarah Ann ?, who died in 1881 and was married to John W. Pate that died in 1908. Thank you ,
Blix Ann
