Looking for any Choate family descendants in Foard County who perhaps settled on the Christopher Choate HR Survey in Foard or Cottle County. Louisa Choate who was enumerated in the 1850 Census in the household with guardian Moses L. Choate of Polk County, TX, was the only surviving child of Christopher "Kit" Choate (d. bef. 4/22/1835) and wife Elizabeth (d. 1847) of Shelby County, Texas. Her elder brother Wade Hampton Choate (1826-1849), sister Nancy Choate (b. 1829) and a younger brother Stokely B. Choate (1834-1848), had all predeceased her, and she was held in guardianship by Moses L. Choate from 1849 to at least 1853. Trying to find when and who she married? As part of the settlement of her father's estate she received rights to her father's entitlement as an immigrant of the year 1821 to a a league and labor of land that was afterwards partly located in Foard County, and part in Cottle County, TX, patented in 1875 in the name as heirs of Christopher Choate. Louisa was also a step-daughter to John M. Bradley (1800-1849), her mother's second husband, of Panola County.
