There's not much in my printed reference books about Palava. Life there was not much different than in the rest of Fisher County, though, especially for the farmers.
http://www.tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/PP/hnp2.html has the beginning paragraphs about the community. There's a bit more in the 1983 book about Fisher County but not much. The Smiths are listed as early settlers in the area, though.
