The widow shows up in Lincoln County, NM in 1909 (remarries) and on the 1910 census. The children (ten of them) show up all over - all are accounted for. Over the last 4 years I have personally searched all NM counties south of the interstate - there absolutely is no record of these two men in NM.
Since some of the sons of Lew Casner settled in El Paso, they may be there (El Paso is on my trip schedule for this summer).
Since the elder John Casner was 79-80 years of age in 1902, it may be he died shortly after the appeal and before the family migrated to NM. I'm hoping the Fisher County Newspapers might have an article in it about the appeal and/or subsequent death of the elder John (and or the son Lew). Given the publicity about the trials of the two in the newspapers, surely there is some mention of the outcome of the appeal (and of the death of either of them if it occurred in Fisher County).
