Currington - McDonald in Eskota
Posted by: Kevin Currington (ID *****0168) Date: December 30, 2003 at 11:07:25

My father was Virgil C. Currington, born in Eskota, Texas in 1923 per his SS-5 record. His mother was Cornelia Jane McDonald and his father was Lucien Currington. I have been unable to unlock the secrets of Cornelia's parentage.

Mr. Hugh Swift found both Cornelia McDonald and Lucien Currington's gravesites in Trent for me. I also found both of their death certificates, however Cornelia's death certificate listed her parents as simply McDonald and Jordan. Cornelia died in September of 1929. Her death was reported by a George McDonald - possibly a brother.

Have had no luck with the census with this family.

I need help with the following:

Was there a newspaper that covered the Trent area in 1929? Family lore indicates that there may have been a tornado that she died in. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
