My CRISWELL line also comes from Fayette Co., TX. However, I do not find Sophronia CRISWELL's name in my records. Who are her parents and where are they all from?
My John Yancy CRISWELL, Sr. was b ca 1788 in Knox Co., KY; m Eleanor VANNOY in 1811-1812 in KY; d 30 Sept 1839 in Fayette Co., TX. One of their sons, William Vanoy CRISWELL, fought at the Battle of San Jacinto, 21 April 1836. He was b 15 April 1815 in KY; m. Mary Elizabeth McMICKEN 12 Oct 1844 in TX; d 19 Jan 1858, TX. He was removed from Fayette Co., TX to the State Cemetery in Austin, TX in 1936 and has a State marker stating his service at the Battle of San Jacinto.
Any connection with your Sophronia?

Billie-Beth (I use both names, please).
