Hi,

It's difficult to find death info prior to 1900 in Texas. The Texas Death Index doesn't cover that time frame.

You can do a Google search for Cemeteries Grimes County Texas and look through the indexed cemeteries for his name.

You can contact the Navasota Public Library (Grimes Co.), www.navasotatx.gov/index.aspx?nid=154
and ask if the Reference Librarian can look up his death.

You can contact the Grimes County Clerk, www.co.grimes.tx.us/default.aspx?Grimes_County/County.Clerk and request a search for his death certificate.

If you don't find him in Grimes, then I'd go back to San Jacinto County and follow the same process. Successful Searching!
