The FamilySearch web site is the free web site provided by the Mormon church. I think you do need to create a user ID and password but access to records is free. If you haven't been in their lately, now is the time to look up all of your Texas ancestors because they've loaded thousands of records and sometimes you'll find actual copies of the documents that you can print for no charge.

I'd go to your local library for those Criswell books and look them up in WorldCat and ask your local library to have them inter-library transferred to the local library.

You also might find them on Google Books if they're in the public domain at this time.

VERY FEW wills or probates are online. Generally you need to find the microfilm and then look up those records. Have you contacted Fayette County Texas Genealogical Society, and asked if they have the microfilm? If not, maybe they know which library has it.
