Doing some research on these people brings up questions. On the 1900 census McLennan Co, TX:
Cremer, Rebel, h, b Oct 1869, 30, md 10 yrs, b TX, TX, TX
" Kathe E., w, b Nov 1872, 27, md 10 yrs, 4 ch, 2 lvg, b TX, GA, TX
" Homer, s, b Mar 1895, 5, b TX
" Marge, d, b Aug 1896, 3, b TX
Austin, Margie, mth-in-law, b Nov 1838, 62, wid, 0 ch, 0 lvg, b AL, TN, AL
Rebel's wife's name doesn't match what you have. If Margie Austin is his mother-in-law how come her birth location doesn't match what Kathe shows for her mother? How come Margie shows 0 children and 0 living?
By 1910 Rebel (listed as Ribble) and Kittie are in Stonewall Co, TX.
1920 Pottawatome Co, OK:
Cremer, Kittie E., h, 47, Div, b TX, GA, MO
" Arthur, s, 16, b TX, TX, TX
" Stella, d, 13, b TX
" Rebel L., d[sic], 10, b TX
Austin, Margarett, "step mthr", 80, Wid, b MS, TN, TN
Plus two hired men. Step mother might answer the questions of 0 ch, 0 living, she may have helped raise Kittie, who did name a daughter after her.
Son Homer is on his own in the same county with a wife and child.
Did you know Rebel was divorced? If so, have you looked for the divorce record? It might give where he was living at the time of the divorce. They had to serve papers to him.
Now, this is just an idea, but did Rebel have something to hide? I found this:
1870 census Callaway Co, MO:
Comer, John, 32, b MO - land 2400/personal 1100
" Mary E., 30, b MO
" R. Lee, 3, b MO ******
" Leona, 1, b MO
1880 census Callaway Co, MO:
Category: Name; Relationship to head of household; Marital Status; Gender; Race; Age; Birthplace; Occupation; Father's Birthplace; Mother's Birthplace.
John J. COMER Self M Male W 42 MO Farmer VA KY
Mary E. COMER Wife M Female W 40 MO Keeping House KY KY
Robert L. COMER Son S Male W 13 MO MO MO
Leona A. COMER Dau S Female W 11 MO MO MO
Benjamon J. COMER Son S Male W 8 MO MO MO
John L. COMER Son S Male W 3 MO MO MO
James MITCHEL Other S Male W 44 MO Works On Farm ENG ENG
William R. COMER Other S Male W 11 MO MO MO
Putting information from 1870 & 1880 census together, it proves the son's name is Robert Lee, but there may have been others named after Robert E. Lee.
If this John pans out, on the 1870 census there is a John A. Comer, 61, b VA, probably father of John J.
Happy Hunting (^_^)
