your enquiry on Arbuckles interested me because my great grandfather, W.N.A.Norton, lived in La Grange in the 1860`s. Later he moved to Austin and then Burnet, Tx. There in 1895, his son, [my grandfather], was married by a Rev. John A. Arbuckle. I have a photo of John and his sons, Matthew and Theodore.
1880 Fed. Census for Burnet Co. Pct.3 shows:
John A. Arbuckle self M Male W 28 Mo OH OH
Nancy W. wife M Female W 27 Ms Tn Al
Matthew son S Male W 7 Tx Mo MS
Theodore son s Male W 4 Tx Mo Ms
William M. son s Male W 2 Tx Mo Ms
Edna M. dau s Female W 4m Tx MO Ms
Matthew Arbuckle father w Male W 62 Oh Va VA

It lists John as minister and the elder Matthew as school teacher.
Does this fit into your Arbuckles at all? Seems like they may have migrated together. Story goes that they lived in Austin until it became too crowded - pop. 3000!
