Arbuckles of Fayette Co.

In the book, "Austin Colony Pioneers" by Worth Ray, there is a listing from an old cemetery in Flatonia which shows the burial of a Wm Arbuckle (1854-1897). I can't find this Wm on the census or anything about him. Could somebody please tell me if death notices/certificates were available in that county for that time period? There was a Wm E. Arbuckle in Bastrop Co. at the same time but he appears to be a different person. I have been trying to find a brother of my g grandmother & think this Wm might be him. If so, he would be from the Arbuckles of Clark Co, IL & Mercer Co. MO. Any clue or suggestions appreciated.
