I am looking for info about the family of Joseph Sommer b. 25 Jun 1799. He married
Mary Catherine Riges b.13 Sep 1799. They were from Freckenhorst Germany and I
assume they were born there. They emigrated from Port of Bremen 26 Mar 1846 and
arrived in Galveston, Texas 24 May 1846. He was naturalized in Fayette County, Texas
in 1855. They lived in Fayette County Texas and probably died there.
They had 2 children Katherine (Katie) b. 1 Jul 1832 (or May 1832), died 21 Aug 1905 in
Westphalia, Falls County, Texas. Anton b. 27 Dec 1834. I suppose they were both born
in Freckenhorst.
