On an extracted list of marriages in Fayette Co. Texas, I have just found a piece of information that says that Amanda Moore is the daughter of John H. Moore. I have always heard that Amanda was the mother of Nancy Ann (my direct line) but I am beginning to wonder if she is AND if Amanda Moore Burleson was a VanDyke. In my research I have found other Amanda Moore names in Nach. County. On the 1850 census Nancy Ann Moore is living on the same property as Amanda and James Burleson but in another household. Nance A. Moore at age 8 is also a property owner and I am beginning to believe that she inherited that. I have always wondered about Amanda V. Moore being in Nach. Co. when she married Peter Moore and then appears so far away in Fayette Co. when she marries Burleson.

I am trying to do further research on that. Do you live in Fayette Co.?
