For probably a couple of years I've been using the FamilySearch Pilot Program and have loved the TX Dth Idx thru 1976, but they are in the progress of changing it all to the new Beta Program which I don't like as well.
I don't know about the term Texas Easy, probably has to do with the huge indexing project on going by the LDS. The film number is one of the Family History Library films. We used to have to look at those films to view copies of the original death records, now they are digitized.

When you go there now, click on the icon to the left of her name to "view" the document and it will say it now is on fsbeta.familysearch.org. But when I went to the new site the message says it is not available online, I don't know why. You might order out that film to your local Family History Center and see if her death certificate is on that film.
I didn't notice before, but the index does show the information was from the other death index 1903-1973, maybe that makes a difference about the digitized records.
Aha, I entered that film number in the search for the Family History Library Catalog and found that index is actually the one from the Kaufman Co, TX records and it includes births which are limited by TX law, so maybe that has affected the death records on that film. I don't know. You might email the FHL and ask them if there is some way you can view the digitized death record for your ancestor and give them the information from the index.
Wish I had the answers. (^_^)
