Yes, and it has been.
Dr. Berry W. Gideon's brother took the spelling as Giddens, he later would move to Texas from Jackson County GA.
I would think that Dr Berry Gideonís son Galen/Gallond?? Gideon would have kept the spelling as his father did GIDEON, but over the years I have seen various spellings for this family on old census and deeds.
