Lena Kiefer passed away December 18, 1974. I found someone who knew her. I called this person (who now lived in another state) and talked to him. He grew up visiting Lena and had a few things of hers that someone had given him after they cleaned out her apartment. He had her Bible, but said the "Family" pages had been torn out. He said he did know that she had a daughter. Lena knew where the daughter was, and had wanted to get her but her father (John Kiefer) would not let her bring her
to his home. At the time Lena died, she had lost track of the daughter. He told me the daughter's name was Lola Gayey (not sure of the spelling). Well, I could never find a "Gayey", but I put in "Lola" and about 1908 +/- 2 years (Lena's age of 18 or so) and found LOLA M. MCGAKEY in the 1910 census. In the 1920 Census it was spelled MCGAHEY. Here are the families involved. Please contact me if you are related.
