George Leroy Puckett-Falls County

I have had absolutely NO LUCK at all in researching GEORGE LEROY PUCKETT and am searching for ANY info on him. He is my great grandfather on my mother's side. His daughter (my grandmother) was named Loula May Puckett and was born in Brady (McCulloch County), Texas on 21 Jul 1910. Her birth certificate indicates her father's occupation at the time was that of "drummer" which was what traveling salesmen were called at the time. He allegedly married my great grandmother, Emmaline Missouri Auguston on 27 Jul 1905 in Lott, Falls County, Texas. The county has no record of the marriage. They also had a son (my great uncle) who was named George Leroy Puckett Jr. and who was allegedly born 10 Sep 1906. George Jr.'s location of birth is unknown as I have been unable to locate a birth certificate but is believed to be somewhere in central Texas. Both children later took the name of a man that Missouri Emmaline married in 1912 but I also have been unable to find any record of a legal adoption for either child. The story passed down in the family about George Sr. is that he either died or left the family just before my grandmother was born (21 Jul 1910). One version is that he "returned" to California where he had another family. The other is that he was killed in Texas somehow/somewhere. If he was a travleing salesman, either would be very possible. As you can see, I have many unknowns so any help is greatly appreciated. Feel free to message me here or email me at keithk1025@yahoo.com. Thanks, Keith
