I know this is an old post, but the TX Dth Idx 1890-1976 came online recently. You can view digitized copies of the original death records.

Jerry Marr Grimes, b 12 May 1890, TX; d 25 Aug 1969, Marlin, Falls Co, TX; widowed; buried Calvary Cemetery; informant Fletcher Grimes, brother. Names of parents not reported.

Fletcher Estelle Grimes, b 3 Dec 1898, TX; d 29 Mar 1974, Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto Co, TX; married; informant Mrs. Florence Grimes; father George Grimes; mother Emily Davis.

Now, accuracy of death certificates only as good as the knowledge of the informant. At first names of parents through me off.

1900 census Tyler Co, TX:

Grims, John, h, b Sep 1858, 41, M 22 yrs, b AL, GA, AL
" Emma L., w, b Jul 1861, 38, M 22 yrs, 8 ch, 8 lvg, b TX, MS, AL
" William A., s, b Sep 1883, 16, b TX
" Edgar W., s, b Mch 1886, 14, b TX
" Francis A., d, b Oct 1888, 11, b TX
" Jerry M., s, b May 1890, 10, b TX
" Josie L., d, b Feb 1892, 8, b TX
" Ely J., s, b Jan 1894, 6, b TX
" Barney, s, b Apr 1896, 4, b TX
" Fletcher W., s, b Dec 1898, b TX

You can view DC for John, he died 1936 --;p=2;c=1320964;t=searchable -- You might want to look at Jerry's, too. Funeral Home is listed.

I don't see births for Jerry on the TX Birth Idx 1926-1949. Now you have full date of death, you might look for an obituary. Often survivors are listed.

Happy Hunting (^_^)
