Child Bride, No Consent Filed
Posted by: Carol Jones Date: October 20, 2001 at 17:52:38

My great grandmother was married in Falls Co.Texas in 1888. She was 14 years old at the time. He was 20. I am advised to look for a consent form but I don't think there was one. Was that fairly common for the time? Could the consent form be under some other name? The marriage license has been returned to me by the Falls Co. Court house and I was very glad to get it. I did not ask for a consent look up at the time. Should I? Or is that just a matter of course? I don't know these things. Advise me.CJ
